Wedge gate valve refers to a valve whose opening and closing components (gate plates) move vertically along the direction of medium flow (channel axis) to achieve opening and closing. The connection method for wedge gate valves is flange, which is the most common connection method. Wedge gate valves are stable and reliable when used in pipelines, so wedge gate valves are usually used in high-pressure pipelines.


Structural features:

1. The gate has two sealing surfaces, and the most commonly used one is that the two sealing surfaces of the gate form a wedge shape. The wedge angle varies with the valve parameters, usually 5 °.

2. The sealing principle of wedge gate valve is achieved by the tight combination of the two sealing surfaces on the wedge gate plate and the two sealing surfaces on the valve body when wedged in.

3. Wedge gate valves can be divided into rising stem gate valves (lifting stem gate valves) and rising stem gate valves (rotating stem gate valves) based on the different ways in which the valve stem drives the gate to open and close.

4. Wedge gate valves can be divided into elastic gate valves and rigid gate valves based on the different structural forms of the gate plates.

5. The valve body is cast, and the valve body and valve cover are connected by bolts. The middle flange is sealed with a spiral wound gasket. When customers have special requirements, metal rings can also be used for connection.

6. Smooth channel with low flow coefficient. The sealing surface is less susceptible to erosion and erosion by the medium.

7. The sealing surface is made of alloy steel or hard alloy, which has good wear resistance and scratch resistance.
